RESOURCES

We’re dedicated to helping individuals with special needs — and their families — find the support, care, and guidance they deserve. We understand that every person’s journey is unique, so we offer a variety of services designed to meet children and adults where they are, helping them grow, connect, and thrive.

Below you’ll find more information about the programs and services we provide.

1

AUTISM SERVICES

Navigating the world of autism services can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re just starting out. With so many programs, therapies, and agencies available, knowing where to begin can be confusing and exhausting.

That’s why this page was created: to help you understand the different types of autism-related services available, what each one does, and how they can support your child’s growth and well-being.

Here, you’ll find practical information, explanations, and links to additional resources that can help you make informed decisions — all in one place.

2

ABA THERAPY SERVICES

Applied Behavior Analysis, or ABA, is a structured, evidence-based approach often used to help children with autism build new skills and positive behaviors. ABA can target communication, social interaction, self-care, and learning through repetition, reinforcement, and individualized strategies.

There are many types of ABA programs — from in-home sessions to school-based and clinic-based approaches. Each one looks a little different depending on your child’s goals, age, and learning style.

3

SPEECH THERAPY

Communication challenges are common for many individuals on the autism spectrum — and that’s where speech therapycan make a difference. Speech-language pathologists (SLPs) work on developing language, improving pronunciation, and supporting alternative communication systems like AAC devices or picture boards.

Speech therapy is often play-based and tailored to each child’s abilities and needs. It can also include social communication skills — learning how to engage in conversations, share ideas, and express emotions.

4

VISUAL IMPAIRMENT

A visual impairment refers to any condition that affects how a person sees — ranging from partial vision loss to complete blindness. For children, it can impact how they learn, move, and interact with their surroundings.

Common causes can include conditions like optic nerve hypoplasia, retinopathy of prematurity, cortical visual impairment (CVI), albinism, or congenital blindness. Each child’s experience with vision loss is unique, and so are the supports they may need.

5

WAIVER PROGRAMS

Waiver programs can open doors to independence, stability, and relief for families. They help ensure that individuals with disabilities get the right care — in the comfort of their own home and community — while giving families the support they need to continue providing care.

This page exists to help you understand your options and find clear, reliable information about programs that can make life a little easier.

6

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy helps children and adults gain independence in daily life — from dressing and feeding to writing, playing, and focusing. For individuals with autism, OT can also address sensory sensitivities and help improve motor coordination and emotional regulation.

Therapists often use games, movement, and hands-on activities to make therapy engaging and meaningful.

7

STATE PROGRAMS

Depending on where you live, state programs and waiver services can provide funding, therapy support, and additional resources for individuals with autism and their families. These programs can help cover the cost of services, respite care, adaptive equipment, and more.

Understanding eligibility and application steps can be confusing, but knowing these programs exist is the first step toward getting support.

8

AQUATIC THERAPY

For many children and adults with special needs, the water offers something extraordinary — a space where movement feels easier, bodies feel lighter, and therapy feels like play.

This page will help you understand what aquatic therapy is, who it’s for, and how it supports physical, emotional, and sensory development.
